Time... or lack thereof.

I just don't have enough time to do everything.
And I am just so tired. I don't have the energy.
I'm beginning to feel like I'm drowning.

Just a random whinge...

From The Love Shop, via La Dolce Vita.

So true!! Especially if you are like me and have a tenancy to blow everything out of proportion and stress over it.

At the moment, getting my package from the damn courier is seemingly impossible. Apparently they can't deliver it because no one is home (lies!). Fine, so they leave a note to call and arrange pick up. I can't call the number because I have no credit on my mobile (we don't have a landline. I regret that now), so I text flatmate at work. Yes, she will ring, "what's the number?" I can't reply because I have run out of texts. I can't top up until tomorrow.

On a different but still impossible note, my Internet bill still hasn't been charged to my credit card... it's now overdue. I'm waiting on hold to see why.

Apparently some things aren't meant to be done.

Whinge over.

Pretty things...

I am currently a little lost. My wonderful Macbook has gone in for repairs (the plug on the charger broke) and I don't know what to do with myself. With over two and a half years of faithful service I am hoping that this 'servicing' will extend it's life by a few more (I say servicing because they are also replacing the casing where it has cracked. Hopefully they will clean the inside too).

With the Mac absent, all my bookmarks and pictures and programs that get my emails for me and gets my blog posts for me to read are gone.

I also suddenly have the writing ability of a sulky 10 year old girl.

So I will resort to re-posting pretty pictures from around the internets. Behold...

From My Favorite And My Best:
I like the wall lamps and the dark paint in the alcove. Sophisticated and classy.

Pretty sofa. I like tufting. Maybe a little too much. *drool*

From Desire To Inspire:
This was meant to be an example of good television placement. Personally, I disagree, but that isn't the point. LOOK AT THE PRETTY SOFA AND CUSHIONS! I love the contrast of the grey and yellow.

That's all the pretty stuff I saw today. I saw some not pretty stuff too but whatever. I might make a post on it later.

I also saw this on Post Secret and it made me sad:

"I'm Lost In The World."

"I'm lost in the woods,
I'm out of my mind,
And if I Go,
To slow down some,
I'm lost in the woods,
I'm out of my mind,
If I'm going to still,
Slow down the time,
I'm lost in the woods,
I'm down on my line..."

I seem to have lost my happy place.

Perhaps I should go look for it?

Countdown to hell....

I have about a month to find a job before the shit hits the fan. All because of these people and their petty bureaucracy:

I am ONE point away from qualifying as a full time student.

I need to be a full time student in order to qualify for living costs and/or student allowance (living costs come from my student loan which I have to pay back but allowance is a benefit for students).

I don't have an issue with getting a job, I need one anyway, but now there is pressure to work a minimum of 16 hours per week (normally you can't if you are on Studylink because you can't earn over $200 p/w). Not difficult, but I need an employer who is willing to work around my class schedule. That, and finding a job with little experience (I have lots of kitchen experience (cooking/kitchen hand/food prep etc) but not keen for that again). There are plenty of jobs going but all require previous experience and no one is willing to give it.

Normally I would be fine because I would take 6 papers over the year but because I have change my degree I only need to do four core design papers, totaling 80 points. I threw in an extra paper to bring me up to 95 points, but now I am one short. I don't want to do extra papers because A) I am lazy and don't want to make extra effort, and B) I have to pay for them and at approx. $900 per paper, I am not to keen on wasting money, even if the loan is interest free.

Grrrrrr!! Stupid bureaucratic bullshit.

My life's ambition....

Is to have a black Amex.

Invite only. So. Much. Prestige.

Just thought I'd share my dreams and ambitions with the world...

I need to go find some wealthy, gay businessman to marry.

Soapbox time

This is were I get back on my soap box and have a rant....

So after much drama involving many calls to my internet provider and Chorus (the phone line people), I finally have working internet.

Normally I would be thrilled, and I am. Or was.

I just can't get over how SLOOOOW my internet connection is. Seriously, it is barely faster than dial-up (I have a ADSL2 connection so should get max of 24mb/s). Realistically, I only expect a connection speed of 3-4Mb/s, downloading something at 300kb/s or somewhere around that. But 64kb/s is a little pathetic. My parents get faster, and they live out in the Wop Wops (lol, the Boondocks). I live in the CBD of our capital city and it took over 15 minutes to download a 40MB file (Yes, it was legal).

I find it sad that some third world countries have better internet than us.

Yes, I know I should be happy that I have internet and be grateful I am so fortunate blah blah blah, but I am paying near $100 a month for something that is barely usable!

Things you learn. Part Two.

Note: This was written yesterday morning, I just got access to internet to post it. And yes, I am happy to post incriminating posts and photos.

Once again, hindsight is a beautiful thing (so is blogging whilst intoxicated by the way).

  1. Texting is fine. Calling on the other hand is not. Which leads straight to number 2.
  2. DON'T CALL PEOPLE! Especially your best friend to tell her that her boyfriend is a total douche and that she deserves better, even if it IS true.
  3. Don't listen to friends who tell you to top your cellphone using your credit card (prepay is more popular than plans in NZ) when you are both intoxicated.
  4. Don't spend $10 of credit calling your friend to say something you could say in a text message.
  5. Don't drink 2 bottles of wine (well, over a bottle of wine, plus one bottle of bubbly) . See photo.

One day I will learn (Shut up, I'm 20 and a university student. You did this too when you were my age and you know it). Though I did eat dinner this time, and DID NOT try weed (or whatever you want to call it).

The back story for this post is that it is New Years Eve (I'll post this in the morning, when I have internet. It is currently 2am), and a friend came over for dinner with wine, which we drunk then went and got more. Plus a bottle of cheap champagne ('cos I am easy like that (take that any way you like :P )).

End of story, we go see what is happening in town, come home, open said bottle of bubbly, I drink it, call bestie (who I was texting at the time), tell her that her BF is a dick/douche/wanker/prick/asshole/scum of the earth (take your pick, I used all of them. She agreed with me too but that's a long story) and that she deserves better.

Anyway, I am now sitting here while friend (wine friend, not bestie) has gone to sleep in flat-mates bed, listening to Beethoven and Beyonce (nice mix btw).

Anyway, Happy New Year people.

(Side note: my champagne flute has a crack in it. It didn't before when I put it in the dishwasher a few hours ago. Bugger.)

Getting ugly....

This is me at the moment. Decaffeinated.

Tired, cranky and just plain bitchy.

I want coffee and I want it now.

New Years promises...

It is that time again where everyone says they'll do this and that and everything else as a New Years Resolution.

And, obviously, I am too. And I'll try my best to do them to ('cos they'll mostly be easy ones :P )

So here goes:
1. Get furniture..... before flatmates move in (this way I'll get what I want. I'm nice like this)
2.Not stress over every detail in an assignment (this is a forte of mine. It'll be hard too)
3. Not nag my flatmates to clean/tidy/do something my way (this'll be hard)
4. Walk somewhere outside of the house/flat most days. Uni doesn't count. Unless it's raining.

Not too bad eh?

A friend of a friend also said it's great to have a theme for the year, like Braveheart / Beautiful mind, so I'm gonna give it a go.... I know what I want it to be.... I just need a catchy way of saying it....

Proud and Promiscuous.

I want to be a slut more social....

What are other people promising themselves this New Year?
