Death by floor murder.

Anyone want to guess what the hell is going on here?

Ignore the ugliness for a minute and look at the floor.

What. The. Fuck.

Imagine how annoying it must be to walk over without tripping.
Not a room I'd want to be in after a few drinks.

On another note, what the fuck is that colourful thing on the right??

No. Just no.

Time... or lack thereof.

I just don't have enough time to do everything.
And I am just so tired. I don't have the energy.
I'm beginning to feel like I'm drowning.

Empty, Ugly AND Full Of Life? No.

"an eclectic collection of Mid century modern iconic chairs bring this dining room to life"

It really doesn't. At all. I am really concerned about the author's perception of what 'life' in a room is.

I don't like it. I mean I love the light fixture, but it is too low and too small for the room; The mirror is nice but seems... almost lonely; The fireplace is too small for the wall; The grey too dark for the floor and furniture; The chairs too modern (I understand they are meant to stand out in contrast to the room but they are the wrong style) and are too colourful; The standing lamp is alone and the wrong style; The dresser/cupboard thing is also the wrong style (does tie in with the chairs quite nicely though).

In short, the room looks empty and  out of proportion. There is no balance or harmony, and the different styles have no connection with one another.

And that damn ceiling light is too low and too small.

Grass in the House

Every week, Desire To Inspire has this pets on furniture thing. Cute, sure... this week a wonderful reader submitted this charming image of her dog (no, I am not going to rip on her dog):

Any guesses as to what the chair is covered with?

Grass. Faux grass to be exact.

WHAT THE FUCK??

This is seriously weird. Imagine how uncomfortable it would feel. That, and is the colour of a dying lawn.

Not what I'd call an attractive design statement. I wonder if she mows it??

Ya Rude!

"Bitch, sit down!"

LOVE IT SO MUCH.

Get it on iTunes here.

Just a random whinge...

From The Love Shop, via La Dolce Vita.

So true!! Especially if you are like me and have a tenancy to blow everything out of proportion and stress over it.

At the moment, getting my package from the damn courier is seemingly impossible. Apparently they can't deliver it because no one is home (lies!). Fine, so they leave a note to call and arrange pick up. I can't call the number because I have no credit on my mobile (we don't have a landline. I regret that now), so I text flatmate at work. Yes, she will ring, "what's the number?" I can't reply because I have run out of texts. I can't top up until tomorrow.

On a different but still impossible note, my Internet bill still hasn't been charged to my credit card... it's now overdue. I'm waiting on hold to see why.

Apparently some things aren't meant to be done.

Whinge over.

Built-in Bondage Fun!

Raina Cox, over at If The Lampshade Fits, posted this gem today, and it got me thinking.

Image from If The Lampshade Fits, via Desipre to Inpsire, via The Nero Chronicals.

Initial thoughts were along the lines of "The noose is appropriate, the designer can hang themselves" but then I looked closer and thought some more.

I still don't find it aesthetically appealing, but the ideas present are rather intriguing. I like the art especially. The noose (I'll get back to this), the paintings and the photography. Abs and vagina, what more could you want on your walls?? I'm serious too, I have a growing collection of tasteful yet surprising (read: slightly pornographic) retro photos I'd love to have printed and framed.

I am in love with the idea of having something different, a little kinky if you will, about the decor of a room. It adds an element of surprise and that appeals to me.

Anyway, back to that noose... Such a great idea!! The artistic point is great, but better yet, you can use it to spice up your sex life! Kinky bondage is only a meter away! Now I don't think the designer should use the noose to kill him/herself, they are genius. Albeit blind genius'.

Facebook and God

Another rant. The soapbox is really getting a work out this week.

What the fuck is up with people pushing their love for God on to others via Facebook (or any other medium*)??

I DON'T CARE IF YOU THINK HE MADE THE SUN SHINE OUT OF YOUR ASS.

This is a little rude, I admit, but I'm sick to death of 'I love Jesus', 'God is my savior' and 'I'm so blessed God is in my life' etc.

Don't get me wrong, I am not a complete prick. Everyone is entitled to worship the God/Lord/Savior of their choosing (religion is free after all), but constantly posting it on your Facebook status just offends me. I don't worship your God, and I don't want to read Bible quotes. Your God tells me I should die and burn in your version of Hell. It makes me want to un-friend you, which is a little sad because, for the most part, I like being friends with you, sans Jesus.

I have a lot of friends from different cultures and religions, and I find it somewhat inconsiderate that a few people find it OK to push Jesus on to everyone. The Muslims or Hindus I am friends with are not singing the praises of Allah or Shiva publicly, they keep it private.

Religion is a personal choice, please respect the choices of others and keep your religious beliefs to yourselves and off my fucking news feed. I promise to keep my views on religion to myself too (mostly).

Small disclaimer:
I don't hate religion nor the few people the above rant applies to, I just hate how people always push it in other people's faces.
The image is cut from various posts on my news feed. I removed the names and dates for privacy. I am not a total asshole.
I love my friends, regardless of their never ceasing, God loving, status updates.

*When I say any other medium above, this does not include blogs. An author of a blog is entitled to write whatever he or she wants, I don't have to read it.

Dildo with your coffee?

Roaming around the net as I do, came across this interesting shot at Sketch42.....

What the hell is the silver thing on the table? It looks distinctly like a dildo to me.

Interesting thing to have on display no?

Come sit on my cun.... couch

I just saw these posted over at My Favorite and My Best.

I can't stop laughing.

To channel a close friend, they look like Va-jay-jay.

Hehehe.... they need one of those tacky hand chairs to finger to sofa. Oh, I'm so mature.

The world is moving on...

I feel sad. The world is moving on (by the world, I mean just the internet) and leaving me behind.

After living in the dark ages for so long, checking the blog roll almost gave me a heart attack.

'If The Lampshade Fits', a favorite blog of mine, is apparently lost and cannot be found.

I'll check again tomorrow before I start mourning.

On a happier note, I should have working internet in the Hole by Friday. Super exciting!

The image is from Google. I took a screen capture but I couldn't upload it.

Oh...

Also on DesireToInsipre.net, this.... mind boggling image:

I think I just threw up a little.

If this is the future of interior design, God help us all.

The things you learn...

So last night (well, friday night) decided it would be a great idea to go to a mates house and have a few drinks. I wasn't going to have much because I had to drive 2hrs the next day.

Well.... I went with a 3/4 full bottle (1lt bottle too) of 40% vodka.... and emptied it. And then had Kahlua. Straight.

Things I learnt that night...
1. Weed is gross. The taste was awful. First time. Last time.
2.Food! This is nothing new really but needed to be added. I was so hungry (and still drunk) when I woke up.
3. Check the taxi takes EFTPOS so you don't have to pay with your already maxed-out credit card.
4. Don't wear contacts, or rather, don't take them out while drunk. Not smart.

Felt soooo bad the morning after. I'm not usually one for hangovers, and I don't usually drink that much, but man. Felt bad.

I have to point out, I am not a silly drunk. I get over protective and controlling. We mished it to the busstop, all 4 of us, because I didn't want my friend to wait for the bus alone.

I'd like to say all above lessons are well learned, but I know better. Except for no.1. NEVER AGAIN.

Dec 13, 2010

Yawn... I live under a rock now.

Because I am awesome, and no longer live with an internet connection (and currently have no furniture, but whatever), my live has suddenly become much less interesting.

Also, since I am no longer in touch with the world, I don't have anything interesting to write about, cos no one want to read about how I can't finish setting up my power because I don't know which of the 6 meters in my building is mine (Yes, I have power, but fuck knows who is paying for it).

So life is boring.

Dec 10, 2010

Naive much?

Well, the old man just learnt [side note, isn't learnt a word?] the hard way about buying things off auction sited like ebay/graigslist/trademe.

He bought a motor for the van [it kicked the bucket]. It doesn't go. It won't start.

Oh dear. And I was relying on the van to get all my crap [namely my bed] out of this shit hole of a village [yes, village. Sad no?] and into civilization.

Bugger.

Dec 1, 2010

Well, F--k!

How many times have I said that recently?

Welcome to my personal scrapbook/soapbox/project that I'll undoubtedly neglect after it loses its appeal.

I've been meaning to do this for a while now.... but really I'm too lazy, but with a sudden need to rant, I realized there was no time like the present.

Eventually I'll make a pretty title, find a suitable background and whore promote myself more than a Christmas sale at The Warehouse ('cos I'm classy like that).

Beware though, I'm not into political correctness and I don't give a shit if I offend anyone.

And I swear.
